History

Established on the 24th March 1985, Harvest Bible College now has students from 414 churches across dozens of denominations and movements.

Harvest’s mission is “training effective ministry worldwide to serve local churches”. This goal is accomplished through ministry training programs that are practical and relevant, in a Spirit-empowered environment. Training students from more than 44 countries for over 32 years, the large number of Harvest graduates in ministry throughout Australia and overseas is a testimony to the quality of our training programs.

Harvest commenced in small portable buildings located at the back of a church car park with 20 students, but now has its very own ministry training centres – purposefully fitted out to satisfy the varying requirements of providing excellent theological education, both face-to-face and online. From these small beginnings, Harvest has invested into its programs and people to provide students with the best quality theological education and ministry development available.

Harvest is one of the earliest Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) still in operation in Australia. A focus in recent years on developing a research culture has led to the hosting of numerous research conferences, an online Journal, and publications being produced. From the outset, Harvest has been committed to a program of continuous improvement, never being satisfied with our present status. Beginning with Certificate and Diploma courses, Harvest now offers Bachelor and Masters degrees as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Harvest was established in Melbourne, Victoria, where its headquarters still remain, however, has grown to include ministry training centres on the Gold Coast, Queensland and in Perth, Western Australia. Harvest also delivers to students worldwide through our purely online courses.
