History

Established in 24th March 1985, Harvest Bible College now has students from over 200 churches across dozens of denominations and movements.

Harvest’s mission is “training effective ministry worldwide to serve local churches”. This goal is accomplished through an educational program that is practical and relevant, in a Spirit-empowered environment. Training students from more than 44 countries for over 30 years, the large number of Harvest graduates in ministry throughout Australia and overseas is a testimony to the quality of our training programmes.

Harvest began in a small portable building located at the back of a church car park with 20 students, but now has its very own ministry training centre – purposefully fitted out to satisfy the varying requirements of providing excellent theological education, both face-to-face and online. From these small beginnings, Harvest has invested into its programs and people to provide students with the best quality theological education available.

Harvest is one of the earliest Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) still in operation in Australia. A focus in recent years on developing a research culture has lead to the hosting of numerous research conferences and publications being produced. From the outset, Harvest has been committed to a program of continual improvement, never being satisfied with how things are. Beginning with Certificate and Diploma courses, Harvest now offers Bachelor and Master’s degrees as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Harvest was established in Melbourne, Victoria, where its headquarters still remain, and has grown to have ministry training centres on the Gold Coast, Queensland and in Perth, Western Australia. Harvest’s international influence also extends to Europe through partnerships in the United Kingdom and Denmark.
